Administrative Business:

  • Approval of February 2017 meeting minutes.  Tom Wathen motioned to approve meeting minutes as written with attachment.  Seconded by Willie Zapata. All in favor. None opposed.

New Business:

  1. Pertaining to our concerns with the State Legislative Committee:
    • Updated information (03/03/2017) was provided from MUELEC stating they will continue to opposing House Bill 246 and Senate Bill 952.  This Board will continue to monitor situation and maintain contact with MUELEC. 
      Motion was made by Tom Wathen to back the decisions of MUELEC. 
      Seconded by John San Luis.  All in favor.  None opposed.

  1. Master applicant in attendance to take examination:
    • Jimmy Forbes
  2. Homeowners Permit application for Joshua Thomas was approved by John San Luis.
  3. David Mudd –expired Master license #1502- Requesting renewal of expired license without examination.
    Mr. Mudd’s request was denied per Section 10 (d) of the Rules and Regulations.
    Motion was made by John Zanelotti to deny request to reinstate expired Master license without  examination.  Seconded by Tom Wathen.   All in favor.  None opposed.
  4. MD Department of Housing and Community Development requested action on information provided in reference to: Potential Danger in Solar Panel Tie – in to panel. 
    Motion was made by Willie Zapata that this Board follows NEC 2014 as adopted by PGM/CPIS with no exceptions or revisions. 
    Seconded by Tom Wathen. 
    All in favor.  None opposed.
  5. Discussion of request from Charles County Board of Education’s concerns of Master license required to perform contracted work.
    Motion was made by Willie Zapata to advise the Charles County Board of Education all electrical work in Charles County should be done according to our Rules and Regulations and inspected according to the adopted NEC Code. 
    Seconded by Tom Wathen. 
    All in favor.  None opposed.

Motion made by Tom Wathen to adjourn the meeting at 5:25 PM. Seconded by Tom Wathen.
