On Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Board of Commissioners proclaimed September as National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2017. The observance celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of residents whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The Commissioners recognized the contributions Hispanics have made through our history and highlighted the importance of diversity which makes our communities strong.
