Public Transit Service Links Charles to Calvert County

On Monday, Feb. 5, Calvert County Department of Community Resources Public Transportation Division will launch a new public transit service that will allow Charles County residents to use transfer connections between Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties.

To access the Calvert County connection, VanGO riders must make the transfer at the Charlotte Hall Food Lion bus stop.  Calvert County’s bus route will run five days a week, Monday through Friday.

“I am happy that this expanded service in public transit will provide our residents more opportunities to pursue education, expand employment options, and connect to other destinations within Southern Maryland,” said Commissioner President Peter F. Murphy.

“I am pleased that Charles County residents now will have an expanded service available to them so they can access all of southern Maryland," said Chief of Transportation Jeffry Barnett.
