PUBLIC NOTICE
 

THE BOARD OF APPEALS FOR CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND has been petitioned by Cellco Partnership, d/b/a Verizon Wireless, for a Special Exception to construct a telecommunications tower more than 50 feet tall, as provided in Article XIII, Section 297-212 (Use 4.06.300) and Article XXV, Section 297-415 of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance. The tower is proposed at 199’ in height (which includes a 195’ monopole and a 4’ lightning rod).  The project site, designated as Tax Map 29, Grid 18, Parcel 15, is zoned Rural Conservation (RC). The address of the project site, known as ‘Rum Point”, is 5345 Chicamuxen Road (Route 224), Indian Head, Maryland. A portion of the 9.61 acre property, proposed to be utilized for the tower and compound, is located within the newly established Watershed Conservation District (WCD) Zone.  The Board of Appeals is hereby giving notice that a Public Hearing will be held on this matter Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room of the Charles County Government Building, La Plata, Maryland.
