Watershed Cleanup Events

Help improve Charles County's waterways and combat litter by volunteering in a watershed cleanup. Volunteer opportunities range from collecting litter to leading and organizing a cleanup site. Community and adopt-a-road groups are encouraged to participate at a site or establishing their own site. This is an excellent opportunity for students and scouts to earn community service hours.

Patuxent River Watershed Cleanup

The Patuxent Riverkeeper's Annual Patuxent Trash Clean-up is to be determined (TBD). This growing event is looking for volunteers to establish new cleanup sites. Dedicated volunteers willing to identify, establish, and lead a cleanup site are needed. Please contact the Division of Environmental Resources at 301-932-3599 or visit paxriverkeeper.org for additional information.

Potomac River Watershed Cleanup

The Alice Ferguson Foundation's 31th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2019. Charles County has nearly two dozen established sites and is always interested in welcoming new sites and site leaders to this program. Please visit the Potomac River Watershed Cleanup website at potomaccleanup.org for more information on volunteering and/or becoming a site leader.
