In observance of the following holiday/s, the Charles County Landfill, all recycling centers, and the Piney Church Road Mulch Facility will be closed:

• Monday, Feb 9th - Employee Appreciation Day
• Monday, Feb 16th - President's Day
  

FREE Mulch Loading*

Saturdays, 7:30am-12:00pm

All vehicle types welcome during these times only.

Through Charles County's Christmas tree drop-off sites and yard waste collection programs, free mulch is available to residents (while supplies last) at the locations listed below.

Free mulch loading*  at the Piney Church Road Mulch Facility is available Saturdays, 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Self-service is available while supplies last.  Residents must bring a pitchfork or shovel to load themselves.

Commercial vehicles are prohibited and defined as any vehicle:

• Displaying a business name, sign, logo, or lettering
• Weighing over 10,000 pounds
• Equipped with stake body, utility body, sideboards, or ladder racks
• With a box or cargo body
• With a uniformed crew
• Carrying lawn equipment

While our operators are skilled professionals, if you choose to have our operators load your vehicle, you assume all responsibility for any damage to your vehicle during loading or transport due to the weight of the materials, or spillage of material out of your vehicle. If you choose not to accept this responsibility, you may load materials yourself by hand.

Please note motor vehicle laws require loads to be secure. You may need to secure or cover your load upon leaving our facility. Securing or covering the load is your responsibility.
