The Society for the Restoration of Port Tobacco presents: The 10th Annual Market Day (rain date: May 18, 2019)
Location:  Port Tobacco Courthouse, 8450 Commerce St, Port Tobacco

Time:  9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Free Admission 

Market Day will showcase some of Southern Maryland’s local artists, vintage items and vendors. Vendor spaces available: $40 for 1; $70 for 2; $90 for 3 - you provide the tables. The Charles County Garden Club will hold their annual plant sale. Visit the plant sale for locally grown flowering plants, shrubs, and ground covers.  Sale of gently used gardening items will be featured. 

Historic Stagg Hall is featuring two special activities on the front lawn. The first one is scheduled during Market Day and the second activity is scheduled for Sunday, May 5th, promptly at 11 a.m. 

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. | The Piscataway Conoy Tribe presents: "We ARE Still Here" Demonstrations and Exhibits

On May 5th stop by before 11a.m. for your front row seat...11 - 11:30 a.m. | The Farm Heritage Conservancy presents a play "Gentleman or Traitor?"  Involve yourself in the debate whether war requires honorable or cutthroat conduct!! The Benedict whiskey incident during the War of 1812 is the basis for an interactive theatre experience lasting approximately 20 minutes. Suitable for all ages, performance begins promptly at 11.  

Food, baked goods, and drinks will be available for purchase. 

Port Tobacco Historic Village Tours will be available at Stagg Hall, Courthouse and Burch House (Catslide).  During normal operating hours the Stagg Hall staff can be reached at 301-392-3418 or email HistoricDistrict@charlescountymd.gov. Tours will also be available at the Port Tobacco One-Room School House (7215 Chapel Point Rd), donations appreciated.
