Annual Report 2016

Friday, February 17, 2017

Our mission is to provide the Charles County Commissioners with advice, information and assistance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, to increase social acceptance and ensure full participation of individuals with disabilities in the many facets of County life.

During 2016, we had many invited guests to continually learn about available services for citizens with disabilities in Charles County. We also hosted two major events - the 2nd annual Employer Recognition Breakfast for those employers who hire disabled workers. The other was our first Artists without Limits exhibit at the Charles County Commissioners Gallery from July 1 to September 26th with a reception on July 19th. We had partners for both events. For the Employer Recognition Breakfast, we partnered with the Job Developers Alliance and for the Art Exhibit, we partnered with the Charles County Arts Alliance. We also have new signage for the Gallery in the Charles County Government Building.

To summarize our monthly meetings in 2016 (we meet the 3rd Monday of each month from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., in the Charles County Government Building). If it is a holiday, the meetings are held on the 4th Monday. These are highlights for 2016:
