CCCW Comedy for a Cause
Join the Charles County Commission Women for a night of comedy as we raise money for a local charity, HATS.
Home Away Transitional Services, Inc., founded in 2014, is a local non profit whose mission is to provide safe, transitional housing to homeless women veterans or civilians, with or without children and to assist in developing an exit strategy to be able to find secure and permanent dwellings as well as gainful employment or business ownership.
Their immediate goals are to establish three residential programs. Those programs will include the following objectives:
Life Skills Development - To ensure that the resident is fully equipped for basic life skills such as having respect for self and others, be self sustainable, identifying challenges and obstacles and how to overcome them.
Health, Wealth, and Fitness - To ensure that all residents have received an initial complete physical upon entering an agreement with HATS as well as regular checkups and are receiving balanced nutrition and fitness information.
Career Development - To focus on helping each resident to become gainfully employed and financially educated to become better managers of their finances. This program also focuses on resume writing, interview preparation, and dressing for success.
Hosted by Renee Nash from WHUR Radio, our comedians include Tommy Taylor Jr, Tanya Lewis, Lady T, and Khai Morgan.
