The following members of the Board were present at the County Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Charles County Government Building, for a special hearing of the Board of License Commissioners: Thomasina Coates, Chairman, Guy N. Black, Vice Chairman, Linda Warren, and Kathleen Quade. Also appearing in support of the Board were Associate County Attorney Jessica Andritz; and Lisa Bailey, Clerk/Recording Secretary.
The regular hearing of the Board of License Commissioners for the month of May was previously rescheduled from May 10 to May 17, 2018, to allow for the Board’s attendance at the Maryland Alcohol Licensing Association annual conference beginning May 10. As the rescheduling of that regular hearing date adversely impacted an applicant for a temporary alcoholic beverage license, the Board agreed to convene this special meeting at 9:30 a.m. to adjudicate the following matter, and any others that were adversely impacted due to the rescheduled regular hearing date.
Upon a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved an application filed by Friends of Derrick Terry, by Derrick Terry, for a 1-day temporary alcoholic beverage license to sell/serve Beer & Wine inside and upon the outside patio area at Courtyard Marriott, 3145 Crain Highway, Waldorf, on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 7-10 PM, for a fundraiser with approximately 50 people expected to attend. Courtyard by Marriott previously held an alcoholic beverage license which expired midnight April 30, 2018. An application for a new alcoholic beverage license at the premises - to a different entity - is pending a hearing before the Board of License Commissioners on May 17, 2018.
With no further business, and upon a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
Lisa Bailey, Clerk
