A motion was made by Charlie Patterson to approve the November meeting minutes, and Jeff Mathews seconded the motion and the minutes were approved.

Emily began the meeting on discussing organizing an artist reception called "Artists without Limits" to be held in the Charles County Government Building on the possible dates of July 1st to September 26th. Emily also stated that the month of July is the month for the Americans with Disabilities celebration. A reception is being planned for the artists that have work displayed in the hallways of the government building and the publi would be able to attend to celebrate those artists along with the Charles county Arts Alliance and the Charles County Commissioners. July 19th is the pending date for this reception.

Emily stated further that the commission is looking to create a large amount of publicity in connection with Ron Brown (Charles County Arts Alliance) to promote the collection of art work to be displayed within the government building and the event.

Next Suzie Miller began to discuss the idea of creation of DORS and the Alliance. The Alliance, along with other agencies, helps support those with disabilities transition into the work force within the county and provides support for independent living as well as transportation training needs. DORS also provides critical information to the community and employers to provide jobs and understanding of hiring those with disabilities. According to Suzie many employer's within the county have expressed a great interest in such information. Suie stated that an employer's award breakfast will be held on May 20th tentatively to celebrate those who hire individuals with disabilities. A location has yet to be determined for such an event and the Alliance is currently seeking funds through grants and donations to put on the event.

Suzie also stated that she would like to have the support of the County Commissioners to increase support and awareness of their efforts and to spread the Alliance's message out to employers within the county. Emily discussed with Suzie about providing some resources for the Alliance to use and show employers to help educate them and create awareness about hiring individuals with disabilities and being a resource for future events.

The next meeting will be held on March 21st, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
