Public Health Alert: Opioid Addiction & Dependence

Opioid addiction & dependence is the physical reliance on opioids, a substance found in certain prescription pain medications and illegal drugs like heroin. The US is in the midst of an opioid overdose epidemic. If you or someone you know needs help, effective treatment is available and can save lives.


Maryland's Crisis Hotline is available 24 hours/7 days a week to provide support, guidance and assistance on how to access Substance Use Disorder services.
