The Charles County Government offers pre-tax supplemental insurance through Aflac to eligible employees.  

The following coverage is offered:

  • Accident Policy
    • Helps to cover the costs associated with unexpected bills.  Policy pays a benefit based on covered injury
  • Critical Illness Policy
    • Provides a monetary benefit should an employee or covered dependent have any of the following:
      • Cancer
      • Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)
      • Stroke
      • Major Organ Transplant
      • End-Stage Renal Failure
      • Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
      • Carcinoma In Situ
      • Coma
      • Severe Burns
      • Paralysis

Both plans also pay an annual wellness benefit for getting routine screenings.

Employees may enroll in Aflac during their New Hire Open Enrollment period or during the annual Open Enrollment window in May.
