• Applications must be for commercial buildings within the Waldorf Urban Redevelopment Corridor (WURC).

• Applications must be received by the designated deadline.
  
  
• Projects can only be external building façade improvements.
  
  
• Applications cannot be for works started prior to receiving a commitment letter from Charles County.

SCOPE OF WORK CHANGES

All changes made to the approved scope of work MUST be approved by staff prior to any work being done. Approval of changes does not alter the original grant amount. 

MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT

As part of the grant acceptance process - the applicant will agree to maintain all improvements made per the approved plans in their finished state. 

GRANT FINANCIAL STRUCTURE

    50% Applicant Funding
+  50% Grant Reimbursement Match from Charles County
   100% of the Total Approved Façade Improvement

The applicant will be responsible for 50% of the cost of the façade improvement with a 50% grant match from Charles County.

PAYMENT PROCESS

All project improvements must be paid in full by awardee prior to reimbursement from the County. Canceled checks and/or other payment verification will be used as proof of payment and reimbursements will be granted within thirty (30) days.  Depending on award amount incremental draw can be made possible.

EXAMPLE
A façade improvement project for an existing commercial building within the WURC is approved. The property owner(s) will be putting an awning on their commercial façade, the total cost is $10,000.

After notification of approval, the property owner will commence with the project. After providing proof of vendor costs, the business owner will receive 50% of the amount.

TIMEFRAME

Construction must be completed within ninety (90) days of award letter, unless otherwise approved in writing by the Façade Improvement Program Committee.

EXTENSIONS

All Extension Requests MUST be submitted to the Grant Administrator in writing, one (1) week prior to the project expiration date. Extension Request results will be emailed.
