Welcome to the Charles County Government Annual Report page. The 2019 Annual Report provides insight to the major initiatives and accomplishments that took place on your behalf during the year. It also highlights the many amenities Charles County takes pride in offering to its residents. Along with articles on our major milestones, you can also read special features on the County's Climate Resiliency Initiatives, the designation of Mallows Bay as a National Marine Sanctuary, and highlights from the Waldorf Senior and Recreation Center ribbon cutting.
Also available is the 2019 Year in Review video, which showcases the Board of Charles County Commissioners’ calendar year achievements and vision for the future, as well as the Charles County Government department milestones.
As a highlight to this year's Annual Report, Charles County Government has published the first of two Climate Resiliency podcasts. Tune into the Charles County Unscripted podcast to learn more about how Charles County is working to mitigate and adapt to a changing climate. The first podcast in this series features guests: Governor Larry Hogan, Dr. Peter Goodwin, President of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science; Charles County Government Administrator Mark Belton, and the Chief of Charles County's Capital Services Division, John Stevens.
Stay tuned for the second podcast which will feature interviews with Secretary Ben Grumbles, Maryland Department of the Environment, and Nancy Kopp, Maryland State Treasurer. You can also hear from Charles County officials and departments on how our county is building capacity for better decision making and leading local government efforts in climate resiliency planning. The second podcast in the series is expected to be available in January 2020.
