The Maryland Recycling Act (MRA) requires Charles County to recycle at least 35% of the waste generated in the County. Charles County has maintained one of the highest recycling rates in the state. The County's recycling rate for the year 2022 was 49.69%.

Businesses that recycle material generated in Charles County provide valuable contributions to this rate. Businesses that self-report their recycling amounts assist in maintaining our recycling rate.

If your business recycles, please select one of the following options to report those materials.

  • Fill out an editable PDF form and email it to RomeroM@CharlesCountyMD.gov
  • Print a completed form and mail to:
    Charles County Government
    Environmental Resources Division
    Attn: 2024 MRA
    1001 Radio Station Road
    La Plata, MD 20646
  • Visit the MDE website to complete their online form
